I heard this week Cheryl was thinking of going blonde again – which made me think about the perils of matching brows to hair tone.
Most people don’t realise that for your eyebrows to be truly effective and frame your face as they are meant to, they should always be 2 – 3 shades darker than your natural hair colour. See Cheryl as a perfect example!
This will bring out the natural colour of your eyes and draw attention to them for all the right reasons. Going darker in hair tone doesn’t meant that you need to darken down your eyebrows to match (think Jordan heading into the jungle!). And similarly adding lights doesn’t mean bleaching your brows accordingly – simply go down a shade when filling your brows to soften the contrast between your brows and your new lighter hair line.
Compact powders such as my Brow Perfector are brilliant as they feature three shades and thus offer a choice of tone. However I would definitely recommend professional tinting for anyone undergoing a drastic hair colour change – a professional will always achieve the best result and give you a maintenance ‘template’ to follow.
