Beauty Journalist Kate Shapland at The Leg Room says:
There’s nothing like self tan to make legs look their best – even if they are not your best asset – and Cheryl’s always look camera-ready. But self-tan is only one part of the equation: exfoliant and moisturiser are also key. Here’s why. The Legologist always recommends buffing with an exfoliator before applying self-tan because this removes the dead skin that is about to fall off itself and makes the effects of self tan more even and longer-lasting. The Legologist also recommends applying moisturiser before self tan, letting it absorb then smoothing self tan on top. This helps keep self tan going for longer too. Another tip is to apply the tiniest smidgen of body oil over self-tan (the day after you have applied it) in a strip down the front of your legs (so shins and thighs) because it streamlines them – they look longer and thinner.
The Legologist recommends:
- Jurlique Rose Body Oil – smells divine and isn’t over greasy, but you only need the tiniest amount to smooth up the centre front of your legs.
- Malin & Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub – is so fresh it gives circulation a boost which tones skin as it the buffing grains smooth it.
- Model Co Bronze Airbrush Sun – performs very well and the colour is particularly good in cold winter light.
- Korres Yoghurt Body Butter – rich enough to nourish skin but not to make it feel slippery.
