Ok, so Saturday’s dress was a lot more Miss than Hit for Cheryl, but before we start judging what had been described as a ‘dustbin lid’ we should get all the facts.

The dress designed by David Koma from his Autumn/Winter 09 collection, was a little black number decorated with swirls of metal tubing which snaked around her body, and Cheryl teamed the dress with some seductive suede thigh high boots by Italian designer Pollini – thigh high boots have been a bit of A/W 2009 trend, Rodarte, Nicholas Kirkwood, Marc Jacobs, and Halston all included them in their collections and the likes of Madonna, Rihanna and Victoria Beckham have all embraced their inner dominatrix with some thigh high boots!

But back to ‘THAT’ dress…David Koma only graduated in March, however his collection was quickly bought by the legendary Browns boutique and thanks largely to Miss Cole’s outing on Saturday night, his pieces are swiftly selling out (so hurry up and get down there)! And Cheryl is not the only fan of the Central Saint Martins alumni; his creations have been favoured by the likes of Lady GaGa, Megan Fox and Shingai Shoniwa (of the Noisettes). Although not the favourite outfit from Cheryl’s X Factor wardrobe, the dress was not only a show stopping piece, it was fun and reminded everyone that fashion can be uniquely creative, it also proved Cheryl has her finger firmly on the pulse of the London fashion scene, as David Koma sets to be a designer that is going to go stellar!

Sunday night saw Cheryl Cole’s style go back to some kind of normality.

Sequins are hot right now and whilst we may have seen Cheryl wearing sequin jackets and dresses, this week it was the turn of her trousers. Sequin trousers hit the runway back in Spring/Summer 09 collections, with designers including Proenza Schouler and Ashish using them as an impact piece, since then their popularity has gradually grown and celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Eva Herzigova have both let their legs sparkle. Cheryl wore what we think are Les Chiffoniers sequin leggings (due to the black waistband and long diagonal zips) with a black slash top, keeping her look simple but very effective!
