Cheryl Cole’s Dresses in the ‘Parachute’ Video

Ahead of the forthcoming release of ‘Parachute’,  the third single from the ‘Three Words’ album, we take a closer look at the outfits and dresses worn by Cheryl Cole in the ‘Parachute’ video and learn more about the concept and styling involved.

The recent MTV behind-the-scenes documentary gives a really interesting insight into the concept and styling of the video as it includes an interview with Victoria Adcock, Cheryl’s fashion stylist.

Cheryl explains the concept behind the video: (1.25ff>>)

“it is like I’m in a dreamworld reflecting on when I’m younger and I was in a relationship with a mystery man, where I knew no matter what happened, he was going to be there… partly dreaming, partly reflecting and then part of it is happening now – so it’s three (3) setups.”

Cheryl’s stylist Victoria Adcock explains that  “…she (Cheryl) has a lot of input into what she wants to wear and she has quite a distinctive style” and then goes on to explain (4:20ff>>) the choice behind each outfit worn by Cheryl in each of the three setups. Victoria says:

Look 1: “…very austere, a bit 1940s…she’s wearing a blouse with puff sleeves and pencil skirt.”

Look 2: “…the dance sequence – a play on a slightly Gothic style, pasa doble dress with added studs to give it a punky, more modern, contemporary feel”

Look 3: “..the last sequence in a bedroom – a one-legged catsuit, a bit 1970s..beautiful, but contemporary at the same time.”

Cheryl is seen to have the last word in the documentary, revealing just how much she enjoys wearing the different outfits:

“…it’s exciting for me; it’s exciting to get dressed up and be girlie for the day.”
