Kate Shapland, The Legologist, says:
There’s been a lot of chat about Cheryl’s, um, Tango on Saturday and I’m not getting confused with Strictly. Cole had the fake tan from hell. No one is saying which one it was (self tan connoisseurs can tell by the shade, but they’re staying schtum), but whoever was in charge of the spray was definitely a little heavy-handed. The tragedy is that if it goes on right – and it’s a good colour – there’s nothing like self tan to maximise the line and length of legs, even if they are not your best asset. But if you are going to use you have to follow the rules: self-tan is only as good as the preparation you put in before you apply it. Here’s why. The Legologist recommends exfoliating before tanning to remove dead skin because this makes the effects of self tan more even and lasting because it has something to cling to. The Legologist also recommends prepping with moisturiser, letting this absorb then smoothing self tan on top. This helps keep self tan going for longer too.
