For the Sunday results show Cheryl wore a mid grey lace dress by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, who has also clothed stars such as Beyonce & Katy Perry.
Tapping into the seasonal lace trend, grey was a more personal choice than the predictable black and the asymmetric draped overlay made for an individual twist on a classic shape. Cheryl always looks knock out in the cocktail style as it flatters her proportions perfectly and has become a strong signature look for her. A ‘Very Cheryl’ shorter than short hemline accentuated her toned legs which were complimented with Christian Louboutin purple suede heels, also adding a subtle dab of colour to the muted grey. Again, as on Saturday, she wore her hair up, revealing another pair of sparkly de Grisogono drop earrings.
Overall, Cheryl presented as confident and modern for the opening of the series and whilst not taking any major risks in the fashion stakes, demonstrated that she clearly now knows what works for her. I’m curious now to see how much her wardrobe will vary throughout the series.
On a side note: Whether it was a conscious decision or not, both on Saturday and Sunday the four judges were subtly co-ordinated with a monochrome palette integrating grey, black and white, signifying a unified force.
