Celebrity Stylist Miss Molly says:
If I were only allowed to wear one label forevermore, that label would undoubtedly be Miu Miu. I have been hooked on Prada’s little sister ever since Mert & Marcus shot the Lindsay Lohan campaign in 2007, and the Lindsey Wixson campaign for SS 2010 featuring the bird and cat prints was almost too much excitement to take in.
Unfortunately, only Cheryl’s shoes were from Miu Miu so I cannot wax lyrical over the Italian brand for too much longer. The shoes? I loved them. Last week I asked for more exciting shoes and here they are. Cute, simple, black patent sandals; with bows and frills that somehow do not look girly or insipid at all. I would love to see Cheryl in more Miu Miu, the doll shapes and quirky styling would compliment her figure and features perfectly. She wore a fluorescent pink Giles dress last season, and that lampshade shape is one of my favourites on her, plus she can totally work a jewelled headband.
Full length, Cheryl looked super cute in a YSL reminiscent Azzaro pantsuit. With the mini cream bows on her sandals echoing the oversized black silk one on her bodice, and her gorgeous red fishtail plait a la Princess Ariel she looked a picture of pint sized elegance.
That blooming desk though, the jumpsuit bodice was not done justice from behind it. For a large part of the night it looked like she was wearing only a lanyard round her neck, as the top of the bodice was completely obscured by the judges table most of the time. I also do not think her black and clear diamond De Grisogono earrings and diamond bauble rings were a strong enough choice bearing in mind the bareness on her top half. Some chunky gold metal Mawi earrings and a brightly coloured Solange Azagury-Partridge ‘Hot Lips’ ring mixed with a ‘Promise’ ring from her new collaboration with De Grisogono would have had more impact and given a stronger, funkier, more high fashion statement look.
I loved that the pantsuit was not an obvious choice for Cheryl, and she carried it off with aplomb but it did not win me over for the duration of the show due to the aforementioned concealment. Shame because as pantsuits go, it was so super cute and right up my street.
We all know how I feel about the shoes too. Is it acceptable to put them on the desk so we can see them? Simon?
